Fidel Fillaud employees receive CPR training

October 2017 - For 2 days, the employees of the Fidel Fillaud Group left the workplace to attend a corporate event. During the event, they received basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training.

 

The Fidel Fillaud Group sent the employees from its 7 sites - 140 people altogether - to Marseilles on September 15 and 16. The Fidel Azur staff warmly welcomed their colleagues and showed them around the Fidel Fillaud Mediterranean site located in Aubagne, and took them to Cassis, the Calanques, the back country and the city of Marseilles.

The enriching 2-day event featured team scavenger hunts, sightseeing, social events and the opportunity for everyone to learn the basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) from the TOM Association.

 

The origin of this initiative

"Thanks to the commitment of Jean-François Boutier, CEO of the company, we brought 4 volunteers from TOM to Fidel Azur, to raise awareness and teach the employees of the Fidel Fillaud Group how to perform CPR and use a defibrillator.

We conveyed to them our 2 key messages:

- Performing CPR before the emergency medical services arrive with a defibrillator is not a medical procedure but something that can and should be done by any concerned citizen,

- 80% of cardiac arrest victims survive because a witness took action within 3 minutes. If you witness a cardiac arrest, don't wait for the help, BE the help!”

Why organize a group-wide event?

Fidel Fillaud organized this enriching inter-agency event as part of the “promoting well-being at work and nurturing team spirit” component of its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy.
